9th & D Homeless Shelter
Each month preparing meals for approximately 160 people at the Salvation Army Haig & Isabel Berberian Shelter & Transitional Living Center in Modesto.
Family Promise
Serving as a safe place for families to sleep, eat, and live as they go to school, work, and endeavor to find a permanent home.
Activities
Senior Ministry Events
Older and/or retired gather for a meal and community building once a month as well as to hear presentations on relevant topics or daytrips to nearby events and venues or various other activities.
Friday Night Movie
At 6:00pm on the second Friday of each month is a free, family-friendly movie shown in the church sanctuary along with activities and snacks for any would like them.
Trunk or Treat
On the Saturday closest to Halloween we provide a safe place for children, youth, and families to get candy, play games, and go through the youth group’s haunted house (if they dare).
Service Sunday
A multi-generational event that takes place on the 3rd Sunday of the month when we gather at 9:00am to undertake a variety of tasks to help neighbors in need, the neighborhood, and Modesto. The tasks include picking up trash at local parks, making cards for people in retirement communities, and making the meal for 9th and D. After worship we enjoy a lunch together.
