God of All Seasons: Experiencing God’s Presence throughout Life’s Transitions, is the theme of the retreat with Kim Ebersole as the facilitator. Change is probably the one constant in life. From the moment we are born, until we die, we, and the world around us, are continually changing. Change is so much a part of our lives that we adapt to many changes fairly easily. But there are times when change significantly alters our lives; times of transition that move us from one way of being to another.
These transitional changes…unexpected or planned, welcomed or not…can throw us for a loop, and we may find ourselves asking questions such as: How will I survive this transition? When will life get back to “normal”? What will life be like afterward? What do I have to let go of to make room for the new? And, perhaps most importantly…Where is God in all this? Where is God in the midst of life transitions? At the beginning of the journey, the end, and during that liminal time in-between when God may seem very far away, how can we experience the alwaysfaithful presence of God?
During our time together, we will explore the role of change and identify major transitions in our lives, name our strengths and resources to help us cope creatively with transitions, and discern how we might support each other, increase our connections, build community, and strengthen our faith. We hope you will join us as we discover how we cannot only survive, but thrive, during times of transition.
The Retreat will be April 15-17 at Christian Berets Retreat Center and registration information will be available soon.
