Passion – a loaded word that we associate with intense love, a compelling emotion, or a single-minded commitment. Its roots, however, mean “submission to suffering.” Nowhere do all those meanings converge as powerfully as they do in the final hours of Jesus’ life. Over six weeks, participants will discover how the story of Jesus’ journey to the cross reveals not only God’s passionate love for humanity, but also Jesus’ invitation to a life of servanthood and nonviolence.
