Current Worship Focus

Aware of the Spirit

During the month of May in which we will celebrate Pentecost, the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on the early church, our worship focus will be on the Spirit of God at work in our world and in our lives.

A Calling Spirit - May 4

Is it a gentle nudge or a mighty push? How do we experience being called or encouraged by God’s Spirit in our lives? Beth Merrill, assistant to the Director of Brethren Volunteer Service, will share about her call into BVS and her time in Northern Ireland as a volunteer.

A Spirit Alive Today
- May 11

Read Acts 2:1-13 and come to celebrate Pentecost, Mother’s Day, and some baptisms! It will be a worship of celebrating the Holy Spirit who blows where it will, advocates for us, and leads and guides us still.

The Spirit Alive in Music - May 18

This is our big Sunday to end the formal choir/bells season. Come and bring friends as we worship together through the inspiration of six choral titles, a bell number, great congregational singing, persons sharing personally on the vocal texts and more! Minister of Music Stephen Reddy is planning this service.

Reaching for and Resting in the Spirit - May 25

Do we even have to reach for the spirit, or is the reaching simply stopping long enough to rest in that which is already right before and around us? Come remember and recommit to how we are called to resist a culture that seduces us into thinking that being busy with doing, doing, doing, is what brings value and worth. Being, is doing something, too.
