Current Worship Focus - Going Deeper, Lent 2008
During the season of Lent (the 6 weeks leading up to Easter) we will look at several different spiritual teachers from throughout the ages who help guide us through their writings and lives into a deeper level in our own relationship with God.
Poets - March 2
Poets have a unique way of connecting our spirits to the world of art, image, and wonder. This Sunday we will hear from many poets whose words and images take us deeper into the realm of God.
Jesus - March 16 Palm Sunday
September - May 11:00 a.m. on Sunday
Summer Schedule 9:30 a.m. on Sunday
Worship is a time for the community to gather together to offer thanks to God, support to one another, and inspiration and challenge as we prepare for the week ahead. Below are thoughts about some of the things that you might experience as part of worship here:
Sharing of Joys and Concerns – As we gather in worship we take time to hear from one another about the places where we are experiencing joy or concern in our lives.
Persons are encouraged to remember these things in prayer in the week ahead.
Offering – This is a time for regular participants in the church to share from their
resources to support the ministries that we offer. As a guest, you may feel free to share a financial gift, but it is not expected.
Time with the Children – A special time of about 5 minutes when the focus is on applying the story in a way that reaches our youngest members. Generally for 2 year olds up to about 6th graders, you may feel free to come and sit on the first pew if that will make your child more comfortable in participating.
Nursery Care - Care is provided for infants through kindergarten during worship and under two during Christian Ed. Children are welcome to stay in worship. There are worship activity bags that children under grade 4 may use. An usher can show you where to find them.
