Training will be Saturday Jan. 30th from 10am-3pm.

Sweets and Strings will be a lovely time of wonderful dessert and music from the Suzuki Cello Choir.  Come at 7pm to choose your sweets, then be seated as the strings treat us to 20-30 minutes of lovely music in celebration of love. 

This event is free but there will be a tip box to express appreciation and support the musicions.

“What Is Being Planned?

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with the Stanislaus Council of Governments (StanCOG), Stanislaus County, the City of Modesto, proposes to construct a four-lane freeway/expressway on a new alignment from State Route 99 (SR-99) just south of Kansas Avenue to Dakota Avenue.

Why is this Project Needed?

The objective of the project is to construct a freeway/expressway to address traffic congestion and safety.

Why This Public Notice?

Environmental studies for this project are beginning.  The Public Scoping Meeting/Open House will be the first of several opportunities to provide comments or concerns.  Your comments will become part of the public record and will be considered in developing the environmental document.

What is Available?

Maps and other information for the project will be available for review at the Public Scoping Meeting/Open House.  Specialists in engineering, environmental studies, and right-of-way will be at the meeting to hear your individual concerns and answer questions.  The open house will be from 5:30pm until 8:00pm.

Where Do you Come In?

If you wish to comment on the project, you may make written comments at the meeting or give comments to a public stenographer at the meeting.  If you cannot attend the meeting, but have comments, questions, or concerns about the project, please submit them in writing to Gail Miller, Acting Environmental Office Chief, Caltrans, 2015 East Shields Avenue, Suite 100, Fresno, CA 93726 or by email to Gail_Miller@dot.ca.gov.”
