Stone Soup Dinner

Join the Modesto Church of the Brethren Youth Group and Project Hope from Modesto High School on Saturday, Feb. 4th from 5pm-7:30pm at the Modesto Church of the Brethren (2301 Woodland Avenue Modesto, CA) for a Stone Soup Dinner. Veggie Minestrone soup will be served and all proceeds to benefit nonprofits. The MCOB youth will send proceeds to Love 146 dealing with human sex slave trafficking and Project Hope will send proceeds to Haiti Relief efforts. Canned goods will go to Interfaith Ministries.

$7 for adults, $5 for children and please bring one nonperishable food item.

For tickets in advance, call (209)523-1438 or come to the church office. Tickets will also be at the door.

Fellowship & Recreation
Commission invites you to invite others and to come to the church for a
delightful time of dessert, entertainment and fellowship with others. Chocolate
Fountains, Tiramisu, The Suzuki Association Cello Choir and other wonderful
entertainment will make for a special dessert time with loved ones and friends
in honor of Valentine’s Day.

This event is free. It has been our tradition to have a
basket for anyone who would like to make a donation of appreciation to the
cello choir for coming!

If you would like to come,
but need a ride, please sign the sign-up sheet in the church narthex and we are happy
to arrange for safe pick-up and delivery back home after!

Young Adult White Elephant Gift Exchange

Come all post high school to 30 year olds and bring a wrapped, unlabeled gift! We will have our White Elephant Gift Exchange after Christmas and after Faith Bites on Wednesday, Dec. 28th.

Mature Movie Night

Monday, November 21, 2011 7:30 p.m at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Maze Blvd.; Modesto, Ca.

Childcare will be provided. Stay after and enjoy refreshments immediately following. There will also be a Free Will offering for Inter-Faith Ministries for those wishing to bring canned goods or nonperishables AND/OR cash/checks that can be made to IFM.

Gardener Movie Night

Young Adult Outing-Dell’ Osso Farms

Venture with the Young Adult Group (ages 18-30 years old) to have some spooky and fallish adventures in Lathrop’s Dell’ Osso Family Farms. Meet at the church for dinner at 6:00pm and we will carpool to the Farm. Expect to leave the farm by 9:00pm.

Coupon Club

The Coupon Club meets weekly on Wednesdays from 4pm-6pm in the Modesto Church of the Brethren Gathering Place to clip and share coupons, fellowship and learn where and how to get some great deals!

We also donate expired coupons to troops overseas and will be trying to donate goods purchased with coupons for those interested in the future.

All are welcome! Bring your scissors!

Gardener Potluck

The Seeds of Peace Community Gardeners will gather the fruits of their labor and share them in the first ever Gardener Potluck! We will be eating out in the garden on July 15th from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Guests and congregation are all welcome! Bring a dish to share!
