Congregational Retreat (May 4th-6th)
May 4-6, 2012 join with others from the congregation at Whispering Pines for the weekend under the theme, “United!we stand–or together we fall“. David Radcliff of the New Community Project will engage us with photos, stories and statistics from our global neighborhood, while inviting us toward discussion of the challenges we face and the power we have for change. Our interconnected world offers opportunities for trade, travel, truffles and many other positive factors; it also confronts us with an assortment of not-so-positive dimensions: sweatshops, resource wars!and global climate change, to name a few. How do we live responsibly as people of faith in a world like this? How can we show our solidarity with those on the receiving end of the down-side of globalization? How can we move our communities and nation toward liberty and justice for all–and not just for some? This retreat is open to high school ages on up. Save the date now!
